Terms of Use

These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of Obey The Light ("OTL," the "Service"). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Adult eligibility and lawful use

You may use OTL only if you are legally eligible to do so. You are responsible for complying with laws that apply to you, including laws concerning adult content, sexual material, privacy, consent, intellectual property, and computer misuse.

You may not use OTL in connection with minors, non-consenting persons, sexual exploitation, unlawful recordings, coercion, trafficking, abuse, or other illegal or non-consensual conduct.

2. Consent and personal responsibility

OTL is a configurable software tool. You choose the media, settings, events, effects, and activities used in a session. A generated prompt is not a command, medical recommendation, or representation that an activity is safe for you.

You are responsible for deciding what is appropriate, lawful, consensual, and safe for your circumstances. Do not configure or follow a prompt that exceeds your limits or another person's freely given consent.

3. Safety

Some optional OTL features refer to activities that can cause injury. Certain activities, including airway or breath restriction, can cause serious injury or death. Visual effects can also include flashing or strobing that may be unsuitable for people with photosensitive conditions. Review the Safety & 18+ information before using the Service.

OTL does not provide medical, psychological, legal, or professional safety advice. If you are unsure whether an activity is safe for you, do not use that activity and seek appropriate professional advice where needed.

4. Accounts

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials and for activity performed through your account. Provide accurate account information and notify us if you believe your account has been compromised.

We may suspend or terminate accounts when reasonably necessary to protect the Service, users, third parties, or legal compliance, including for abuse, fraud, attempts to bypass Premium controls, or violations of these Terms.

5. Your media and content

OTL is designed to play media selected from your device. You retain responsibility for the media and text you choose to use. You represent that your use of any media or other content through OTL is lawful and that you have the rights or permissions needed for that use.

Do not use OTL to access, possess, display, or facilitate illegal content. Do not use media depicting a minor in a sexual context or any non-consensual sexual material.

6. Saved Trainings

If you save a Training to your account, OTL may store the configuration needed to restore it. Saved configurations can include adult or intimate preferences. You are responsible for what you choose to save. Local media files themselves are not sent to OTL as part of Saved Trainings; file linkage may instead depend on files available on your device.

7. Premium

Premium may be provided through an eligible Patreon membership, an authorized access code, or another method OTL makes available. Premium availability and features may change over time.

When you link Patreon, OTL may verify your Patreon membership status to determine Premium eligibility. Patreon is a separate service and handles Patreon billing, subscriptions, and payment processing under Patreon's terms. Unlinking Patreon from OTL does not cancel your Patreon membership.

Access codes are intended only for the recipient or use authorized by OTL. You may not sell, publicly distribute, brute-force, generate, counterfeit, or circumvent access codes or Premium entitlements.

8. Service changes and availability

OTL is an evolving service. We may add, remove, modify, limit, or discontinue features, Trainers, events, Premium benefits, compatibility, or other parts of the Service. We do not promise uninterrupted or error-free availability.

Local browser capabilities vary. Features involving persistent local folder access, fullscreen behavior, media codecs, or other browser APIs may not be available in every browser or device.

9. Prohibited technical conduct

You may not intentionally interfere with OTL, probe or exploit security vulnerabilities without authorization, bypass authentication or entitlement controls, overload the Service, misuse automated requests, access another person's account, or use the Service to distribute malware or conduct unlawful surveillance.

10. Intellectual property

OTL's software, branding, interface, original graphics, Trainer materials, and other original service content are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. These Terms do not transfer ownership of OTL intellectual property to you.

Your own local media remains yours or subject to the rights of its respective owner. OTL does not claim ownership merely because you select a local file for playback.

11. Third-party services

OTL may interact with services such as Patreon, Cloudflare, or email providers. Those services are controlled by their respective operators. OTL is not responsible for third-party outages, policies, billing decisions, or account actions.

12. Disclaimers

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of uninterrupted availability, fitness for a particular purpose, or that any particular activity, prompt, media file, configuration, or third-party service is safe or suitable for you.

Nothing in these Terms excludes warranties or consumer rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.

13. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the operator of OTL will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages arising from use of or inability to use the Service, loss of local files, user-selected activities, third-party services, or unauthorized account access.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions or limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

14. Termination

You may stop using OTL at any time. You may request deletion of your OTL account as described in the Privacy Policy. Account deletion or Patreon unlinking does not automatically cancel a separate Patreon subscription.

15. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms as the Service changes. Material revisions will be reflected by an updated effective date and, where appropriate, additional notice.
